December 15, 2013: World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei delighted home fans at the Kuala Lumpur Badminton Stadium by winning his fourth BWF World Superseries Finals title in six years with a convincing 21-10, 21-12 win over Tommy Sugiarto of Indonesia in Sunday’s final.

For Lee, it was a seventh Superseries title of the season and an ideal way for the Malaysian to finish the year, in front of his home fans.

“I’m very happy because I’ve never won seven Superseries titles in a year before,” Lee said. “It’s good for my spirits next year.”

Lee, 31, won the first three editions of the tournament from 2008 to 2010, before Chinese superstar Lin Dan and compatriot Chen Long, the current World No. 2, won the following two titles. Both did not play in Kuala Lumpur this year.
