April 28, 2015: Amata Spring Country Club and Alpine Golf Resort Chiangmai in Thailand have been voted the Best Golf Course and Best Golf Resort respectively on the 2014 Asian Tour by the circuit’s players.

 

Amata Spring, home of the Thailand Golf Championship, topped the voting for the third straight year in the Best Golf Course category, while it was also the Host Venue of the Year when the prestigious US$1 million tournament was launched in 2011.

 

Amata Spring has also hosted Open Championship qualifying events and the 2012 Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, won by Guan Tianlang.

 

Andrew Pitts, General Manager of Amata Spring, said: “Winning the Best Golf Course award for the third straight year, in addition to being the Host Venue of the Year in 2011, is a great reflection of the high standard that we have established for both our course and our facility.

 

“Amata Spring Country Club has always strived to deliver a true championship test for the players and to receive their votes once again is a tremendous accomplishment and great recognition for the club.”

 

Alpine Golf Resort Chiangmai won Best Golf Resort for a second straight year.

Alpine Golf Resort Chiangmai, which hosts the Chiangmai Golf Classic presented by PTT, won its second straight Best Golf Resort award following the introduction of the category during the 2013 season.

 

Thaweewat Thaweephon, General Manager of Alpine Golf Resort, said: “We are delighted and honoured to win the Best Golf Resort award again for the 2014 Asian Tour season. It is our mission to provide a memorable experience to all golfers when they visit our resort and this recognition from the Asian Tour players is a wonderful endorsement.”

 

Kyi Hla Han, Chairman of the Asian Tour, praised both venues, which will again play a role on the Asian Tour this year.

 

“On behalf of our members, I would like to extend our congratulations to the Amata Spring Country Club and Alpine Golf Resort Chiangmai for winning the Best Golf Course and Best Golf Resort awards respectively for our 2014 season,” Han said.

 

“Amata Spring and Alpine Resort are magnificent golf destinations and contribute immensely towards the successful staging of the Thailand Golf Championship and Chiangmai Golf Classic presented by PTT on the Asian Tour. Our players have enjoyed competing at both the golf courses over the years and we look forward to returning to Amata Spring and Alpine Resort later this season.”
