October 16, 2013: China have been drawn with hosts Argentina and Oceania duo Australia and New Zealand in Pool B of the Hockey World League Final, which will be held in the northern city of San Miguel de Tucamán from November 30-December 8.

Korea have been drawn in Pool A with Olympic champions Netherlands, European champions Germany and England, in a schedule announced by the FIH. Korea will look to bounce back after losing to Japan in the final of last month’s Asia Cup in Malaysia, where China finished fourth.

The World League Final will also provide China a chance to exact revenge after Argentina beat them 3-2 to claim third place in the World League Semi-Finals in London in June, earning the 2010 World Cup winners a place at next year’s World Cup in the Netherlands. China have since earned their place at The Hague.

The eight-team tournament features two pools of four followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals, classification and medal matches, and is the culmination of a competition that began with the first rounds in August 2012.

All eight teams will compete on the opening day. The morning session will feature Pool A matches, with Korea opening their campaign against World No. 4 England, then World No. 1 Netherlands tackling European rivals Germany.

The evening session gets underway with World No. 3 New Zealand and China going head-to-head in Pool B before World No. 2 Argentina play an in-form Australia side.

The World League gives every hockey-playing nation a chance to go all the way to the World Cup and the Olympics. Composed of four rounds and played over two years, the schedule alternately coincides with the build-up to the World Cup and to the Olympics, providing more than half of the entry tickets for both.

All of the matches from the tournament in Tucamán will be live streamed on the FIH You Tube channel, which will also feature match highlights and behind-the-scenes footage. To subscribe, visit: www.youtube.com/fihockey
