May 15, 2014: Sebastian Coe will headline the second edition of Sports Matters, which will be held at Marina Bay Sands Singapore from September 16-18.

Coe, 57, was one of athletics’ greatest stars, winning gold in the 1,500 metres and silver in the 800 metres at both the 1980 and 1984 Olympics Games.

The Briton set 12 world records in track and field in an extraordinary career that also included an 80-metre gold in the 1986 European Championships in Stuttgart, where he also won his second silver in the 1,500 metres.

Since retiring, he led the successful bid for the 2012 London Olympics and is currently Chairman of the British Olympic Association and Executive Chairman of CSM Sport and Entertainment.

“I am delighted to be speaking at the prestigious Sports Matters conference this year in Singapore, especially as CSM has recently opened our regional headquarters in the Lion City,” Coe said.

“Sport is an incredibly powerful tool for brands, businesses, governments and regions. I am really looking forward to meeting so many of the key people in the Asian sports industry and sharing some of my own views about the trends in world sport and how to make use of the power of sport.”

Sports Matters will again be presented by Samsung and produced by Branded – creators of the Matters series including Digital, Music and Social Matters – and Haymarket Media, publishers of Campaign, F1 Racing, FourFourTwo and Stuff.
