June 27, 2014: HSBC’s Giles Morgan and World Sport Group CEO Andrew Georgiou will return as speakers at the second Sports Matters conference in Singapore, joining headliner Sebastian Coe at Marina Bay Sands from September 16-18.

Morgan, HSBC’s Group Head of Sponsorship and Events, was one of the most popular speakers at the inaugural Sports Matters last year as he provided insights into the bank’s sponsorships of major sports properties, particularly in golf and rugby, which will both feature in the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.

HSBC-sponsored golf events include the HSBC Champions in China, HSBC Women’s Champions in Singapore and Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship in the UAE, while its rugby sponsorships include the IRB Sevens World Series, Hong Kong Sevens and the Hong Kong national team.

Georgiou also returns to speak and his comments will be topical as WSG is the commercial partner of the new Singapore Sports Hub, which opened this year and will host the WTA Finals for the first time in October, when the top women in tennis will compete in the season-ending tournament.
