November 13, 2014: Filipino favourite Eduard Folayang and former boxing star Ana Julaton have been included in the final 10-bout card for One FC: Warrior’s Way, which will be held at Manila’s Mall of Asia Arena on December 5.

Folayang will take on Russian lightweight Timofey Nastyukhin in one of the last four fights added to the card, while Wushu world champion Rene Catalan will also have home support when he takes on Muay Thai world champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke.

Julaton, the popular Filipino American, will seek to avenge her defeat to Ann Osman when she takes on Egypt’s Walaa Abas, while another women’s fight has been added, with local ‘Bad Girl’ Jujeath Nagaowa facing Tharoth Sam of Cambodia.

Ana Julaton returns to the Mall of Asia Arena, where she won her One FC debut in May.

Former boxing star Ana Julaton returns to the Mall of Asia Arena, where she won on her One FC debut in May.

In previously confirmed headline bouts, Brazilian star Bibiano Fernandes will defend his bantamweight title against undefeated Korean Kim Dae-hwan, while Filipino-American heavyweight Brandon ‘The Truth’ Vera will make his one FC debut against Igor Subora of Ukraine.

Brazilian Roger Gracie – of the famed Gracie family – will make his promotional debut against Englishman James McSweeney, and American Jake Butler will seek to avenge his only loss in a rematch with Sylvain Potard of France in another light heavyweight clash. Filipinos Kevin Belingon and Honorio Banario will face Japanese bantamweight Koetsu Okazaki and Brazilian Herbert Burns respectively.

Victor Cui, CEO of One FC, said: “One Fighting Championship has taken over Asia this year with blockbuster shows all over the continent. One FC will return to Manila with one of our most stacked cards to date and the night will feature three martial arts champions from the Philippines. The MOA Arena will be packed to the rafters as fans from all over the world will tune in to catch world-class mixed martial arts action.”

Folayang (14-4) is one of the biggest sports stars in the Philippines. A Wushu practitioner and former school teacher, the 30-year-old has beaten Vincent Latoel and former One FC lightweight champion Kotetsu Boku in his last two fights. Nastyukhin (7-1), 24, will be making his One FC debut against Folayang on the back of seven straight first-round victories – four in the first minute – since losing his pro MMA debut.

Catalan (0-1) will compete at home for the first time after two fights in Singapore last year. The former SEA Games and Asian Games Wushu gold medallist returns to the ring after his fight against Khim Dima last October was ruled a no-contest for illegal strikes, so is still seeking his first win, having lost on his One FC debut in April. Dejdamrong (3-0) has stopped his opponents in all three of his One FC fights this year, the 36-year-old Thai winning the last two by submission.

The women will kick off the evening’s entertainment. Julaton (1-1) will make a welcome return to the Mall of Asia Arena, where the former WBO and IBA super bantamweight boxing champion beat Egypt’s Aya Saied Saber in her One FC debut in May. However, the 34-year-old lost to Osman in August and is determined to reassert herself in the cage against Abas, Saber’s teammate and a national Egyptian kickboxing champion who has won her last two fights with punches.

Like Julaton, Nagaowa (1-0) is making the transition from boxing to MMA and also won on her One FC debut in Manila in May, when she beat India’s Jeet Toshi. The former WBC Asia atomweight champion has nifty footwork and knockout power in both hands. Tharoth (2-0) is a Kun Khmer fighter who has won both her MMA fights in the first round, including against compatriot Vy Srey Chai on her One FC debut in Phnom Penh in September. ‘Little Frog’ is a pioneer for the sport in Cambodia and is looking for a first win on foreign soil.
