February 16, 2015: Ann Osman will face a new opponent in her ‘Malaysian Warrior’ Superfight’ at One FC’s Age of Champions after Egypt’s Walaa Abbas replaced Hawaiian teenager Angela Lee on the Kuala Lumpur card on March 13.

Since losing a controversial split decision to Singapore’s Sherilyn Lim on her One FC debut in October 2013, Osman has become a huge star in Malaysia with wins last year over former boxing champion Ana Julaton in Dubai and Aya Saeid Saber in Kuala Lumpur.

The Kota Kinabalu-based 28-year-old will now face a second straight Egyptian opponent at Stadium Putra for her first fight of 2015. Abbas is a national Egyptian kickboxing champion with a 2-2 record in professional MMA, including a loss to Julaton.

One FC also announced an additional bout, with Singapore’s rising star Amir Khan locking horns with Florian Garel, a Taiwan-based French featherweight. (Note: Garel has since stated on Facebook on February 22 that he broke his hand in training, so is not expected to fight.)

20150313_One-FC-Age-of-Champions-poster_300x300Like Osman, Khan lost his pro MMA debut (with GFA), but bounced back with two wins on One FC late last year, most recently over Waqar Umar in Singapore in November. A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Blue Belt under Relson Gracie, Khan also has competitive wrestling and Muay Thai experience.

Peter Davis will follow Osman’s bout by taking on Rajinder Singh Meena of India in the second of two ‘Malaysian Warrior Superfights’, which will be televised on Malaysia’s free-to-air station, TV9, marking the first time that MMA will be broadcast live across the country. TV9 is the country’s second most watched television channel and recently signed a deal to continue its partnership with One FC as its official media partner in Malaysia.

After the ‘Malaysian Warrior Superfights’, Adriano Moraes of Brazil defends his One FC flyweight title for the first time against Riku Shibuya of Japan in the main event.

In earlier fights, Malaysian flyweights Gianni Subba and Saiful ‘The Vampire’ Merican will face Australian Thanh ‘Aladdin’ Vu and Anatpong Bunrad of Thailand respectively, while Malaysian’s Ev Ting challenges Cary Bulos of the Philippines in the night’s second featherweight fight, after Khan faces Garel. In an early bantamweight clash, Ramon Gonzalez of the Philippines faces Chan Rothana of Cambodia.
