June 4, 2014: Desi Rahayu, Indonesia’s first female mixed martial artist, will take on Malaysian fighter Ella Tang at next Saturday’s One FC: Era of Champions in the first-ever female MMA bout in Indonesia.

Nicknamed ‘Eagle Eyes’, Rahayu is best known for being Indonesia’s national judo champion and the 23-year-old’s fight against Tang in Jakarta will mark her MMA debut. Tang, 24, is a Muay Thai, Sanshou and kickboxing expert, and now wants to integrate the striking arts with grappling.

The bout was one of three added to the card to complete the line-up for the June 14 event at the Mata Elang International Stadium. Muay Thai world champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke will make his One FC debut when he meets Filipino fighter Jomanz Omanz, while undefeated Filipino flyweight Ruel Catalan will duel with 21-year-old Gianni Subba of Malaysia.

Dejdamrong has an impressive Muay Thai record of 282-65, is a three-time Lumpinee World Champion and is now an instructor at Evolve MMA. Omanz has a boxing record of 12 wins and two losses and now takes on Dejdamrong in a clash of the two most popular striking styles.

Catalan, a Wushu practitioner who comes from a family of mixed martial artists, is looking to extend his unbeaten record after defeating Cambodia’s Khim Dima in his last bout with a vicious series of ground punches. Subba returns to the One FC cage for the second time this year, having finished his opponents in all the bouts that he has won.
