Rugby: Toshiba extends partnership with Rugby World Cup

February 9, 2015: Rugby World Cup Limited has announced that global electronics company Toshiba has joined an official tournament sponsor of this year’s event in England.

 

The new agreement continues Toshiba’s association with rugby’s showcase event for a third straight edition, with organisers expecting England 2015 to be the biggest and most viewed Rugby World Cup to date. Japan will represent Asia in the 20-team event, which will be held from September 18 to October 31.

 

Bernard Lapasset, Chairman of Rugby World Cup Limited, said: “We are delighted to be extending our long-standing and highly successful partnership with Toshiba. The appointment of a global leader in the electronics field further underscores the strength of the Rugby World Cup brand in the global sports sponsorship marketplace.

Toshiba follows Heineken, Land Rover, Société Générale, DHL, Emirates and MasterCard as Rugby World Cup 2015 Worldwide Partners, Coca-Cola and Canon as Official Sponsors, Gilbert as Official Ball Supplier, Canterbury of New Zealand as Official Sportswear Supplier, Clifford Chance as Official Law Firm, EY as Business Advisor and ESP as Master Licensee.
