July 28, 2013: Taiwanese teenager Chan Hao-ching (pictured) and Russian Vera Dushevina reached the semi-finals of the Bank of the West Classic, where they lost 6-4, 6-4 to second seeds Julia Goerges of Germany and Darija Jurak of Croatia.

Chan and Dushevina, the fourth seeds, reached the last four after a come-from-behind win in the quarters against Olga Govortsova of Belarus and Alla Kudryavtseva of Russia at Stanford University in California.

The Taiwanese-French pairing won 1-6, 6-3, 10-5 to reach the final four of the world’s oldest women’s-only tournament.

Chan and Dushevina had reached the last eight by beating Canadian duo Gabriela Dabrowski and Sharon Fichman 6-4, 6-0.

Chan is ranked 46 in women’s doubles. The tall 19-year-old, who turns 20 in September, teamed up with Kristina Mladenovic of France to win the Portugal Open in May, six months after the pair won the WTA 125K Series event in Chan’s hometown of Taipei last November.

Earlier this year, Chan teamed up with her sister Yung-jan, 23, to win the doubles at the inaugural Shenzhen Open, also part of the WTA 125K Series.
