December 3, 2014: Eight-time Grand Slam champion Andre Agassi, former World No. 1 Ana Ivanovic and French star Gael Monfils helped raise S$122,000 for the Rainbow Centre charity in Singapore as the three tennis stars participated in Rally for Hope on Wednesday. Rainbow Centre runs two Special Education (SPED) schools and two Early Intervention Programmes (EIP).

The fundraiser at the Winchester Tennis Academy gave tennis fans the opportunity to rally with the professionals by pledging a minimum of S$100 per rally. The tally raised included a S$25,000 donation from DBS, a co-sponsor of Rally for Hope and also title sponsor of the Singapore Slammers team competing in the IPTL.

The 44-year-old Agassi, who joined the Singapore Slammers for the IPTL’s ongoing second leg in Singapore, said: “This tour is doing a lot of good stuff for communities and charities with organisations that make a difference. I respect it and want to give my time to it. It’s amazing how some things transcend cultures and cultural barriers.”

Ivanovic, 27, and Monfils, 28, are both representing the Musafir.com UAE Royals, which topped the table after the opening IPTL leg in Manila.
